Another 'Big Event' for Production:av LtdProduction:av joined associate company CSS to provide Image Magnification (iMag) and playback facilities for Soul in The Cities' 'Big Event' held at Brixton Academy on the 5th of August. The climax to a week of social action projects and community activities aimed at bringing about renewal within communities and fostering hope. Contracted to provide the full gamut of production services, Production:av and CSS undertook to make the event go as smoothly as possible. A 'realistic' budget and tight turnarounds between acts as well as a challenging venue certainly kept the Technicians and Engineers on their toes. |

Dual Screen System.Production:av provided a dual screen system for the reply of artists DVD's, Powerpoint holding slides and images from the three cameras around the venue. The system was based on the Christie Digital LX50 5000 ANSI lumen projector for the 10'x7'6" screens either side of the stage. 2 cameras at the Front of House Mix position, and one on the stage fed images back to the Panasonic MX50. Due to the tight budget, Soul In The City undertook to provide volunteer camera operators. A big thank you must go to these guys (and Girl) who did a fantastic job, working in a stressful situation that can be quite daunting, but they achieved really good results. A big thank you must also go the staff at the Brixton Academy- namely Josh the Stage manager, and the security team who were very friendly and helpful. A further thank you Phil Tickle the rigger who worked tirelessly for the day to ensure the rigging was carried out safely and efficiently. Lighting Design was by David Lea and FOH sound by Lee Dreezer.
