Production:av to supply Barco LED for McFlyCheltenham Borough Council switched on it's Christmas lights on Saturday 18th of November 2006. Chart topping band McFly headlined the evenings events. Production:av supplied a camera and LED screen package to Star FM to give those at the event a better view. The event has historically happened outside the municipal offices in the very heart of Cheltenham. Not being an ideal site for this sort of event led to the inclusion of an LED screen to try and give the audience a better view. |

Barco B10 LED Screen. The screen was set up from about midday allowing sponsors and paid advertisers the opportunity to be seen by the thousands that were shopping on the saturday, as well as those coming specifically for the Christmas lights switch on and the live event of the show. The Barco B10 screen, with 9.6m2 of SLite10 LED screen took about 15 minutes to get up and running from arrival on site to the first material being displayed. Set up of the remainder of the equipment was then undertaken while the screen carried the advertising material. Production:av provided a three camera setup for the event, with two operators, and one hothead unit for on stage use. A vision engineer mixed the live feeds for the screen, cutting in the logos and adverts as appropriate. The Mcfly boys put on a great show, playing a mix of tracks live from their current and previous albums. After they finished their set they stayed on to help switch on the Christmas lights with the Mayor and other dignatories. The get out was quick and easy due to the nature of the B10 screen and Production:av's experienced crew. Thanks go to the guys from Star FM, Cheltenham Stage Services et all to make the event the success it was.
