Stow-on-the-Wold Baptist Church av InstallAndrew Lippet approached Production:av to provide Stow-on-the-Wold Baptist Church with a cost effective solution to the problems of video projection. “We needed a simple system that could be upgraded as the congregation grows, cope with the bright sun light that comes in through the windows, and deal with the song words and PowerPoint as well as videos” The RequirementsProduction:av undertook a free site visit to asses the building and chat with Andrew to define what the Church needed. The SolutionProduction:av specified a solution based around the new Christie LX34 3400 lumen data projector (Chosen for the ability to select the appropriate lens), Unicol Gyro lock mount, and a bespoke screen support. Specific custom cables for Data, Svideo and Control and a Da-Lite ‘FastFold’ screen. The LX34 offers 3400 Lumen brightness output in a small form. Combined with the optional lenses, and XGA resolution, it is ideal for churches with awkward ‘throw’ distances (screen to projector measurement). Software installed on the operators PC allows the computer to control basic functions on the projector, making operation easy from the balcony position, and combined with the remote mouse option on the projectors remote, presentations from the front are a pleasure. Installed by Production:av in the space of a day, with a return visit for a check up on the bracket and final alignment. On the installation Andrew commented “The congregation love what Production:av have done. It is such a bright clear image, and has got rid of all the clutter that used to adorn the front of the church. The installation was undertaken in a clean and professional manner with respect for the building. Without hesitation we’d recommend Production:av.” The system is built for maximum upgrade-ability. With the cabling installed, options to add a scaler switcher to the system mean that taking a video player and scaling the output to data to allow seamless fades between the sources.
